Richard Kirk, 49, is charged with first-degree murder after his wife, Kristine, 44, was shot dead in April 2014. An inmate died after having a crack pipe removed from her vagina. April Rollison was arrested on drug charges earlier this month in Polk County, Florida, US. But during a body scan at Polk County Jail deputies spotted two items inside the 31-year-old’s vagina. She was taken to hospital. Officers believe she removed the crack while no-one was around and ingested the drugs. Medical staff took out the crack pipe. Her condition deteriorated when she was taken back to her cell and died on Monday.

The family of reggae legend  Bob Marley are to launch the world’s first global brand of cannabis. The ‘Marley Natural’ range will include lotions, creams and other accessories infused with the plant, and will be sold in the US before being marketed worldwide next year. The brand is being developed with US firm Privateer Holdings, who credit Marley with helping to decriminalise marijuana use and distribution. ‘[He is] someone who, in many ways, helped start the movement to end cannabis prohibition 50 years ago,’ said chief executive Brendan Kennedy.
