Man, 35, ‘bragged “I’m not a virgin anymore” after killing his friend’s mom’

A man was arrested for stabbing his friend’s elderly mother to death, then calling her son to brag that he ‘is not a virgin anymore,’ police say. Thomas Evans, 35, was arrested for killing Frances Axley, 78, in her Naples, Florida home on New Year’s Day. After the alleged murder, Evans called someone with Axley’s son, Ehran, who he befriended at work, and confessed to the murder on speakerphone saying ‘Tell (him) that I am not a virgin anymore.  I just killed (his) mom,’ according to police. SAS IN RACE TO DESTROY ISIS POISON GAS PLANT

Special forces were last night involved in a deadly race against time to find and destroy a ­Syrian chemical weapons factory before it is used to slaughter thousands of people. The order was given after intelligence reports revealed that the Islamic State terror group was planning a chemical attack on Kurds in the east of the country. Last night a team of 60 SAS soldiers were accompanying a US chemical warfare team in the hunt for the chlorine warehouse,  said to be situated in a heavily fortified ISIS stronghold 50 miles from the Iraq border. According to Kurdish sources, the weapons may have been placed in an underground bunker to protect them from Nato air strikes. However, air strikes would not have been used against this target for fear of releasing the gas. SOURCE

(Reuters) - British IndyCar driver Justin Wilson died on Monday  after suffering a severe head injury during a wreck in the closing laps of a race the previous day at Pocono Raceway in Pennsylvania, IndyCar officials said. He was 37. Wilson, a former Formula One driver and seven-time winner in IndyCar racing, had been in critical condition in a coma at a hospital in Allentown, Pennsylvania, before his death. "This is a monumentally sad day for IndyCar and the motorsports community as a whole," Mark Miles, chief executive officer of Hulman & Co, the parent of IndyCar and Indianapolis Motor Speedway, said in a statement. "Justin's elite ability to drive a race car was matched by his unwavering kindness, character and humility -- which is what made him one of the most respected members of the paddock," Miles added. This summer, athletes from across the globe went head to head for a new title:  “Most Charitable Athlete.”  Inspired by its annual Celebs Gone Good list, honoring the most charitable celebrities of the year, DoSomething.org announces the winners of its inaugural Athletes Gone Good list. Cristiano Ronaldo topped the list for going above and beyond on the field and in his charity work.  The Portuguese soccer star raised money for various causes including donating more than $83,000 to a 10-year-old fan in need of brain surgery and giving more than $165,000 to fund a cancer center in Portugal that treated his mother.  Ronaldo has also used his fame as a global spokesperson for a variety of causes including childhood hunger, obesity and biodiversity.
