UK to build £25m Jamaican prison

Image
The UK is to spend £25m on building a prison in Jamaica so that foreign criminals in the UK can be sent home to serve sentences in the Caribbean. The project has been agreed to break the deadlock in negotiations over a prisoner transfer deal between the two countries. More than 600 Jamaican nationals are in UK jails but cannot be deported because of Jamaica's poor prison conditions. Officials say the foreign aid-funded deal could save taxpayers £10m a year when transfers begin in 2020. More than 300 existing offenders are expected to be sent back under the Jamaica prison scheme, which covers those sentenced to at least four years who have 18 months or more left to serve in custody. Currently they cannot be sent to Jamaica because of fears that jail conditions in the country would allow a successful challenge under human rights law. Jamaica is third highest in the list of foreign countries with nationals serving prison sentences in the UK.. Almost 70% of

The Internet Reacts To David Cameron ‘Putting His Knob In Dead Pig’s Mouth’

Image
Well after a week of claims being levied against new leader of the opposition Jeremy Corbyn, there surely had to be a retaliation aimed at Prime Minister David Cameron.  This was not one that was anticipated. It is alleged that as a young whippersnapper David Cameron inserted a “private part of his anatomy” into a dead pigs mouth that was resting on the lap of a member of the Piers Gaveston Society. According to ‘Call Me Dave’, a biography of the current PM’s life co-written by Tory peer Lord Ashcroft and the journalist Isabel Oakeshott, Cameron performed the act during during his student days at Oxford University. Downing Street has thus far declined to comment on the accusations/biographical anecdote. As you’d expect the internet has been swift in its response and it is brilliant! No comment: pic.twitter.com/6IEX3gM2CL — Tony Barrett (@TonyBarretTimes) September 20, 2015 "My desires are... unconventional..." "So show me." "...&

David Cameron skipping gets the photoshop treatment – the pleasure is all mine

It was a near fiasco, however David Cameron has satisfied his wish of putting in an additional five years in 10 Downing Street.  Look how upbeat he will be, he's for all intents and purposes skipping! This snippet of delight was apparently because of the declaration of the new bureau, however we ponder what he was truly pondering .

David Cameron getting absolutely savaged by a group of young people.

Radio 1’s Live Lounge is normally reserved for musically talents from all over the world. But today it played host to even more magical scenes –  Newsbeat’s Chris Smith orchestrated what sounds like the Prime Minister’s most gruelling Q&A session in his election campaign so far. The savvy youngsters fired a barrage of questions at the PM on topics including the LGBT community and the Living Wage. And, surprisingly, Mr Cameron squirms more times than he should. Shots were fired when the Tory leader stressed: ‘If I’m PM after the next election I will continue with equality for gay and lesbian people.’ A member of the audience took issue with the fact that he failed to include ‘transgender’ in that sentence, for which apologised and he said he should have done. But the real awkward moment came when April gave him a grilling on the Living Wage. She said: ‘During your time as pm we’ve seen MP’s wages increased yet the British people have still been deni

The Tories are paying to get you to like them on Facebook

If you’re not wild about the Conservatives, here’s some bad news: expect to see a lot more of David Cameron’s face on Facebook in the next few months. The Conservatives, who are set to outspend Labour by three to one in this general election campaign, are already using their vast pile of cash to fund adverts helping get their message across on Facebook. Spending on advertisements encouraging Facebook users to like’ the prime minister has helped the Tory leader’s social media reach in the last 12 months. Back in February 2014 he only had around 60,000 likes. Now it’s up to 470,000. That puts him well ahead of the 88,000 likes for Nick Clegg and – oh dear – just 67,000 for Ed Miliband. Even Nigel Farage only has 70,000, but then he’s probably not going for the online vote, is he? The Conservatives, on the other hand, definitely are. Social media is much beloved by politicians, who see it as a great chance to get their message across to voters without those
