Boozy revellers take to the streets to celebrate the New Year
Thousands of Brits nationwide took to the streets last night to herald the start of 2015, embarking on booze-fuelled antics that will probably be remembered at some point today through the haze of a crippling hangover. As these pictures show, though, early over-indulgence meant that some revellers peaked a little too soon. Metropolitan Police have said that as of 6am today, 90 arrests were made by officers working on policing for New Year’s Eve in London. 27 of these arrests were for drunk and disorderly conduct, 22 for assault, six for drugs and seven for sexual offences. A further two were detained on suspicion of criminal damage, alongside ten public order offences, two offensive weapons and three thefts.
