X Factor host Dermot O'Leary almost killed by car in Kenya during Comic Relief visit
TV PRESENTER Dermot O'Leary was just feet away from death when a car almost crashed into him Kenya, its been reported The 41-year-old star in the city of Kisumu as part of a Comic Relief visit, when a car almost careered into him and three homeless boys. Dermot was sleeping rough with the youngsters as he filmed a segment for Comic Relief, when the car crashed into a nearby ditch as they slept n their makeshift beds. Luckily, Dermot and the boys were unharmed in the accident but were badly shaken following the near miss. Tweeting about the incident, Comic Relief support staff on the charity trip said Dermot had a "lucky escape". They also highlighted the fact that this is the sort of danger that the young boys face every single night by sleeping on the streets. "It’s an incredibly vulnerable place to sleep which is why they stick together," they posted. "The cars, motorbikes and rickshaws are so close the noise is something to behold.
