Russian ultras ‘attack’ English and Welsh fans in Lille

Trouble involving football fans has continued on the streets of France today despite strict warnings from UEFA.

The latest footage from Lille appears to show fans from England and Wales teaming up as tensions between English and Russian supporters remain on a knife-edge.

Mobile phone video shows British tourists chanting ‘F*** off Russia, we’re England and Wales’ at Russian hooligans.

Reports suggest that Russians dressed in black attacked the British fans outside a bar in the Place de la Gare in central Lille.

Orel Butchers are a hooligan group associated with Russian club Lokomotiv Moscow.

The footage shows rival fans goading each other and chairs appear to have been thrown across the street.

It shows a man in a suit shouting ‘allez’, French for ‘go’, to masked Russians, who appear to have ignored threats of their country’s disqualification from Euro 2016.

UEFA warned that further violence will result in their side’s disqualification, following nasty clashes in Marseille and immediately after the match between Russia and England.

Russia’s next game takes place against Slovakia in Lille while England and Wales will face off in nearby Lens on Thursday.

UEFA confirmed in a statement today that any further violence inside the stadium of Russia’s matches will result in the country being disqualified.

The English FA were warned previously that further disorder could lead to the England team also being kicked out of the tournament.

Currently, the FA has not been formally charged by UEFA.
