Bodyguard crashes boss' £1million supercar
A bodyguard has had the difficult job of telling his employer that he crashed their car worth £1million whilst driving without insurance.
Andy Danso, 43, was driving the Pagani Zonda supercar back from an MOT when he lost control and crashed headlong into a fence.
Initially, Danso told police that he crashed after trying to avoid a silver car, though he later confessed to losing control after trying to adjust his seat.
He admitted that he was too embarrassed to tell police the real reason for his crash when they first asked.
The crash, which happened in Wembley, north-west London, caused thousands of pounds worth of damage to the supercar, which can reach a top speed of over 200mph.
Incredibly, Danso has managed to keep his job working for a wealthy Chinese businessman.
Danso told the judge at Willesden Magistrates Court: "I just lifted the lever up and went to push it back."
"It was stiff to start off with so I pushed a bit harder and my foot slipped forward on the right hand side of the accelerator and pushed it down."
"At that point the car accelerated and the back of the car pulled to the left."
He was later convicted of driving without due care and attention, along with driving without the correct insurance to cover the damage.
District judge Dennis Brennan told Danso: "Whereas a reasonable and prudent driver would have pulled over you didn't and as far as that there was an accident."
"Therefore I find you guilty."
