This is the dramatic moment dozens of people scramble to lift a London bus off a trapped unicycle rider.
The 55-year-old was involved in a collision with the 212 bus in Hoe Street, Walthamstow.

They managed to get the bus off his legs and the man is believed to have suffered serious but non life-threatening injuries.

The amazing response by passersby has been praised by the first paramedic at the scene.

In the video, good Samaritans are seen rushing to the double-decker as it rocks and jerks at around 6pm yesterday evening.

A woman, clearly in distress, can be heard crying as she says: ‘Oh please, God please help that person.’

Bushra Khalid, who witnessed the crash, told Local London: ‘We are all traumatised.

‘We heard the poor man scream “oh s***” as his legs were crushed underneath the wheel, his dreadlocks were trapped too and his face was full of agony.

‘Everyone was screaming and we were crying. The skin had been taken off his legs and you could see bone.’
She continued: ‘There must have been at least 50 people all coming together to actually lift the double decker bus off him.

‘It was amazing. A lady who had first aid training was assisting. We just hope he is okay.’
Off duty Paramedic Manager Stephen Hines was the first medic on scene, arriving in five minutes of the call coming into our control room.

Stephen said: ‘When I got there the patient was already out from under the bus and members of public said they had freed him by lifting the bus. It was definitely a great help to me as it meant I could start treating him straight away.

‘The patient was treated for serious leg injuries, given pain relief and taken to the Royal London Hospital as a priority.’
A Met Police spokeswoman said: ‘Police were called at 5.50pm on Thursday May 28 to reports of a bus in collision with a cyclist on Hoe Street, E17.

‘The male cyclist was taken by the London Ambulance Service to an east London hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

‘The bus – a Route 212 – stopped at the scene. There has been no arrest.’
She added police believe he was on a unicycle at the time.
