Disabled pensioner Alan Barnes attacked by mugger meets kind-hearted stranger who started £225,000 fund for him

Alan, 67, told Katie Cutler: “Words are not enough to say how I feel.

Katie launched an appeal after Alan was mugged outside his house a week ago. 

The pensioner suffered a broken collar bone and was too scared to return to his home in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear.

So far, more than 17,000 people from all over the world have donated cash, which Alan will use to buy a new home.

Wiping away tears, beautician Katie, 21, said: “I am overjoyed for Alan.”
