Lad Loses His Phone Partying In Ibiza, Ends Up With £19,000 Bill

One lad, who's described as a bit of a "party animal", has had an absolute nightmare after losing his phone in Ibiza and racking up a phone bill that could leave him in debt for life!

Corey Pye was on holiday with three mates, when his phone was nabbed three days into the trip.

The 21-year-olds iPhone 4s was password protected so he thought he needn’t bother report it as stolen - what an error this was.

Unfortunately for Corey he returned home and eventually told Vodafone that his phone had been stolen.

Shortly after this, he was handed a whopping first bill of £6,439.76.

To pay this off, he was forced to take out a 36-month personal loan!

Things got even worse for the lad as not long after, he was sent another horrifying bill for £12,450.35 - which he simply cannot afford to pay.

It’s ruined my Christmas. I don’t know what to do. I was so shocked when I got the bill.

I’m a young lad and this will be hanging over me for the rest of my life. I’m still paying off that six grand off.

I shouldn’t be punished for the naivety of failing to report my mobile missing, or for the criminal acts of others who are the ones profiting from this. Corey Pye

It is very easy for criminals to rapidly build up high charges using stolen phones, which is why we encourage customers to report phones missing as quickly as possible.

We make it as easy as we can to report a theft or loss. Customers, or someone acting for them, can do this 24 hours a day, 365 days a year by phone, online or in one of our retail stores. A Vodafone spokesman

What would you do if something like this happened?
